Booking is now open for our 5 conferences, “The Expert Sessions”.

Capacity at each venue is strictly limited – so book now.

This year, Work Experience Week is becoming WORK EXPERIENCE MONTH. This will significantly extend the opportunity to celebrate Work Experience, to learn from best practice in all sectors and to be inspired by Work Experience beneficiaries, fresh perspectives and new ideas.

Fair Train operates nationally and our accredited organisations represent every part of the country. That's why, this year, we're building on 2016's highly successful national conference in London by creating five content-rich and fast moving half-day conferences called The Fair Train Expert Sessions, which will take place in five different parts of the UK. They will undoubtedly help us all to deliver and to promote and champion HIGH QUALITY Work Experience with increased impact, so that significantly more people in the UK benefit from this crucially important aspect of employability and personal development.

As these conferences are part of Fair Train's service to our accredited organisations and an important element in our determination to increase the availability and uptake of high quality Work Experience, there is no charge for these events. We and all those involved in delivering Work Experience know that it will become increasingly important as the potential impact of Brexit on the UK's workforce becomes clearer.

In our five The Fair Train Expert Sessions conferences, we won't just be discussing the needs, hopes and demands of employers, learning/training providers and young people: we'll be hearing directly from them.

The sessions making up each conference will include What's Working? when we'll learn from innovative organisations, enjoy exciting and transferable ideas and explore topics like "Should people undertaking Work Experience get paid?" ... "Is Work Experience only for young people?" and "What do innovative learning/training providers do to effectively engage local employers?". Attendees will gain invaluable insight and tips from those who have overcome significant operational and strategic challenges to develop and deliver impactful and HIGH QUALITY Work Experience.

In our Getting the most out of your Fair Train Work Experience Quality Standard session, we'll cover a wide range of advice - from how to get your "Ofsted specific reference" to maximising on the PR from your accreditation.

In the My Story sessions we'll hear from inspirational and uplifting young people and in our Keynote sessions we'll get exclusive insights from leading figures in business, learning/training provision, government etc.

They'll include Alex Cruz, CEO of British Airways, when we hear his views on the employment opportunities and challenges for young people in the UK from the perspective of a global organisation - and Aaron Saxton, Director of Training and Education at UK Fast, which is a driving force behind a new high school focused on digital literacy.

Our panel sessions will cover a wide range of topics relevant to employers, learning/training providers and Work Experience beneficiaries - topics like "How can micro businesses overcome the resources and logistics challenges of delivering high quality Work Experience?"(Please note that the format and content for each The Fair Train Expert Sessions conference will vary).

We are enormously grateful to our individual conference sponsors and hosts:

Always Possible; Bright Sparks; British Airways; EY Foundation; Nova Training; Plumpton College; University Hospitals Bristol - NHS Foundation Trust.

Numbers for each venue are very strictly limited, so do please book your place now.  At this stage, we're limiting advance bookings to 4 tickets per accredited organisation. They could all be representatives of the organisation, but what we'd really like - as part of our "promote and champion" aspect of this year's Work Experience Month - is for the one person from the organisation who is making the booking to bring guests who maybe aren't 100% signed up to the idea of Work Experience and who would be enthused and spurred into action by all they'll see, hear and experience at the conference.
