How to get involved in Fair Train?

Any employer who uses a Fair Train training provider is automatically entitled to the support and services provided by Fair Train. There is no charge for these services.

Any training provider who wishes to become a Fair Train training provider has to go through a formal approval scheme.

Approval

The Fair Train Steering Group is responsible for approving training providers who apply to be Fair Train Providers by submitting a completed Application Form which needs to be signed by the organisation’s Chief Executive. When making their decision about whether to grant approval, the Steering Group will consider the following criteria:

• The agreement of the applicant to the Fair Train Principles
• The regional and sectoral coverage of existing providers
• The effect of admission upon existing Fair Train members
• Any other factors presented to the Steering Group at the time of application that may have a bearing on the reputation of Fair Train

A majority of members need to vote in favour of accepting a new organisation as a Fair Train training provider.

Removal

Organisations can be removed from the list of approved Fair Train Providers once an Application for Removal or a complaint that has been received by the Fair Train Steering Group has been considered.

The Fair Train Steering Group shall be solely responsible for the decision to remove approval following an application for removal or a complaint received in writing from:

• An employer
• Another Fair Train Provider
• A member of Fair Train Steering Group

The Fair train Steering group may also consider removing approval in the event of:

• concerns over training quality delivery as the result of Inspection or otherwise
• concerns over the use of funding as the result of a funding body audit or otherwise.
• Concerns regarding the safeguarding of learners
