Gold meets Gold!
West Herts College and BA flying high together.
18th. December 2018
It’s been a great 2018 for Work Experience opportunities at West Herts College! 91% of its 4,500 students have participated in some form of work experience or social action project this year – and the College is busily preparing for the upcoming T-Levels: a challenge it is really looking forward to.
West Herts continues to work with excellent employers and this year it has been made a ‘college partner’ of one of Fair Train’s other Gold Level accredited organisations, British Airways. The college is outside BA’s normal catchment area, so its selection demonstrates not only its excellent reputation, but also the great work it does in providing high-quality work experience placements for its students. This partnership has already led to students from the college’s aviation course taking part in British Airways’ programme.
But West Herts College doesn’t stop there when it comes to breadth of opportunity for its students’ work experience. Just one example – and a shining one - is London Fashion Week. The college arranged for 40 fashion students, as well as photography and journalism students, to work on this globally iconic event across three days: fantastic hands-on work experience and something that will really enrich the students’ CVs.
A big "Well Done" to William Hill and his colleagues at the College and Mel Kose and her team at BA: two 'solid gold' Fair Train accredited organisations working together to create outstanding opportunities.
From all of us at Fair Train, keep up the fantastic work and we look forward to hearing more great stories of your achievements in the year ahead.
